The microstructural evolution and phase stabilities during mechanical alloying of the mixed powders were investigated by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy and differential scanning calorimeter. Several amorphous powders were found to exhibit a wide supercooled liquid region , ie ΔT(ΔT=Tx-Tg), is 55K for Mg40Cu40Ti20, 53K for Mg40Cu35Ti25, 51K for Mg40Cu35Ti23B2, 62K for Mg40Cu35Ti21Sn4, and 74K for Mg40Cu35Ti21Ni5. As the results demonstrated, small addition of Sn and Ni significantly improved the glass forming ability (GFA) of the Mg-Cu-Ti amorphous alloy. Chia-Jung Hu 胡家榮 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 107 en_US
