Description
Summary:碩士 === 大同大學 === 電機工程研究所碩士班 === 93 === Since American Ministry of National Defense required all to use the TCP/IP communication protocol while connecting computer equipments of ARPANET in 1983, TCP/IP protocol is widely used in the internet network. It offers a steady transmission environment for the software application. TCP/IP protocol usually is included in the operating system, because some protocols need a large amount of operations that occupy many system resources. A lot of previous research is discussing how to optimize the transmission the network, which included the TCP/IP and relevant efficiency test. This research is mainly to probe into and offload TCP/IP protocol calculation onto a specific adapter, in order to lighten the systematic burden by the I/O processor of the adapter. This thesis describes completely, states the step designs, and provides an efficiency/performance test result with the some instances.
