Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 音樂系碩士在職專班音樂學組 === 94 === The research project contents the School of Erhu established by Mr. Chou, Hsiou-mei
and Mr. Liu, Ten-hwa back in A.D. 1906 and the evolution of Erhu making during the
history. Moreover, listed below are 5 Erhu related documentations and their interactions
throughout the evolution:
1. Investigation on the early history of Erhu evolution.
2. The political promotion and influence.
3. Reveal the mysterious street talk- Miss in the Old Redwood.
4. The sounding effect produced by the vibration of film material- the applications of
python skin.
5. The evolution of Erhu form and style- Erhu bow, bridge, sting support, sound
outlet, neck, and strings.
The results demonstrated that the form of Erhu had not been modified much and
redesigned since the School of Erhu established by Mr. Liu, Ten-hwa. However, with the
inputs of blind Erhu folk musician A-bien (Mr. Hwa, Yan-jun) dated from A.D. 1950-1960
and Mr. Sun, Wen-ming, the Erhu style and form were not influenced yet approached
toward perfection. Based on these results, this project concluded Mr. Liu, Ten-hwa as
''the Father of Erhu'' and further supported by investigating many results.Meanwhile,
this project also provides a new topic for open discussion and new viewpoint for future
extending study of the Erhu evolution.
