The visual efficiency training group included two subjects with low vision from 2th grade of the elementary school.
A multiple probe design across behavior was used in the study. The independent variable of the study was visual efficiency training. The dependent variables were (1) the improvement of visual discrimination skills. (2) the improvement of visual memory skills. (3) the improvement of visual spatial-relationship skills. (4) the improvement of visual form-constancy skills. (5) the improvement of visual sequential-memory skills. (6) the improvement of visual figure-ground skills. (7) the improvement of visual closure skills.
The major findings were summarized as follows:
1. The result of visual efficiency
(1) Visual efficiency skills of students with low vision were improved during the training program.
(2) Visual efficiency skills of students with low vision were retained well after training.
2. The social validity of this training program
(1) The social validity of the training goals is effective.
(2) The visual efficiency training program can provide the reference for teachers.
(3) The social validity of the training activities is effective.
(4) The social validity of the training effect is effective.
Discussion and recommendations were made based on the result and limit.
