It allows sufficient natural light to come into the building, but a large amount of heat is also brought in at the same time by the sun light, especially in the summer. This radiation heat causes an unpleasantly high temperature in the upper floors. The objective of this research is to numerically simulate this ventilation problem and also trying to improve it. Most building ventilation researches study interior air circulation, interior day light adoption, thermal effects of shading device in buildings, natural and force ventilation efficiency of the separate open model on buildings, the interior ventilation path, and so on. The influence of solar radiation on the ventilation and temperature inside a building is much less investigated. We used a commercial software, FLUENT, to study the effects of the size and location of the ventilation openings on the flow field and temperature inside the building. We used a CAD package PRO/E to construct, from simple to complex, three building models. We compared the results from these three models. We also studied the effects of different turbulence models on the numerical results. Finally the numerical results were compared with measured data and the correlations were discussed. Pre-processor: Pro-E, ICEM-CFD. Solver: FLUENT. Post-processor: Tecplot. Ching-Shung Chen 陳慶祥 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 107 zh-TW
