Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 電腦與通訊研究所 === 94 === In this paper, we propose a new medium access control method for wireless local area networks (WLANs). In the MAC layer of IEEE Std 802.11a-1999, carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) and RTS/CTS mechanism are adopted to be the basic medium access control technique. The fuzzy logic control is proposed and two kinds of average number of waiting channel time are used by fuzzy logic controller to know the network traffic. From fuzzy logic controller, we can obtain an appropriate value of CW (Contention Window) to reduce the collisions with using the network. Simulation results show that fuzzy logic control protocol can not only reduce packet error rate (PER), but also enhance the performance and fairness of CSMA/CA protocol.
