In Taiwan, very little is understood about patients’ needs in rehabilitation ward. Therefore, it is important to understand those patients’ needs in this clinical setting if healthcare team desire to promote holistic care in this clinical setting. The aim of this study was to understand patients’ needs in rehabilitation ward. A survey was carried out in a university affiliated to a medical center in the center of Taiwan. A total of 116 questionnaires have collected, and SPSS 12.0 was used for the data analysis. The results of this study discovered these subjects’ needs in physiological aspect emphasized on the need to rest and sleep; the psychosocial aspect stressed on the need of encouragement and support; information aspect highlighted on the information of physical disabilities handbook; relative subsidy management; the outcomes of their illness; and a clear explanation of the rehabilitate activities; the medical service aspect focused on the need of healthcare providers to listen to them attentively. Based on the findings of this study, the recommendations have been made for healthcare team. It is hoped that the findings from the current study could be used as an impetus for change in practice on the provision of holistic care in rehabilitation ward. 張李淑女 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 127 zh-TW
