Description
Summary:碩士 === 世新大學 === 圖文傳播暨數位出版學研究所(含碩專班) === 94 === In recently years, multi-primary color LCD display has been widely discussed and researched. Multi-primary color LCD display uses more primaries than traditional display and we can make sure that its color gamut can indeed larger than three-primary display. There are some problems occurring during the development of multi-primary color LCD display, like which color filter combination is well or how to determinate the optimal multi-primary color signals. Also, the smoothness of color signals must be considered when multi-primary color signals are calculated. The first aim of this thesis is to provide a set of colorimetric designs about the primary colors in a multi-primary color LCD system. We adopted the Kodak Wratten Filters and standard RGB to build the chromaticity data of four-primary, five-primary, and six-primary. Then we turn the chromaticity data into LCh color space and observe the color distributions and LCh volume of each multiprimary. Finally, we found that four-primary has about 8.8% LCh volume larger than sRGB, while five-primary has about 15.7%, six-primary has about 20.3%. The second aim is to propose a new color signal conversion method using convex hull concept of the linear programming. Here, taking four-primary for instance, we used two color signal weighting coefficients, c and (1-c), to help us gain one set of reasonable color signal. The two coefficients are used to describe the solution which connected by two convexes of convex hull. Nine test color patterns are created to examine the smoothness of the color signal curves. When the coefficient c equals to 1/2, the smoothness of the color signal curve will result to a satisfied solution. In addition, we try to change the colorimetric combinations of four-primary color and rework the processes above. When reproducing a series set of the colors between the hue regions of green and yellow, the smoothness of color signal curve becomes discontinuous dramatically. The reason of this phenomenon may be the responses of lightness Y have great influences on green and yellow.
