Therefore, by adapting “Salary and Productivity Survey”, we try to observe the industrial transition and female-male wage differential in Taiwan. The result shows that Taiwan already transferred from manufacturing industry to service industry. Due to this transition, female-male wage differential is smaller in the service industry, and female workers’ employment opportunity is better. In addition, to investigate the determinants for wage differential between female and male workers, we use panel data to establish the regression model. The empirical results are as followings: A.Market segregation is harmful for female workers’ employment opportunity and their wage level. B.When an industry expands, it also benefits female’s employment opportunity and wage level in this industry. C.When export plays an important role in an industry, wage differential between male and female workers decreases. According to our analysis, industrial characteristics, segregation level, labor flow rates, industrial output level, import and export are all major determinants for female-male wage differential. All factor are empirically significant, except export. Yi-Hsiue Wang 王怡修 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 68 zh-TW
