Graduate student: Xu Chiawei ; Advisor: Dr. Yu Kueilin Abstract This research is intended to investigate the influences of organizational transformation on organizational commitment and individual officers with different backgrounds. The army political war officers were chosen as the group of interest. A poll was conducted. In total, 238 copies of the questions list were sent out; among them, 210 responded. The responding rate was 88.2%.The data were analyzed statistically with computer software, SPSS10.0 and LISREL 8.5. The results were further verified with LISREL structure equation model. As a result of the above research, a few conclusions can be drawn as follows: 1. The national defense organization transformation has significant influences on the organizational commitment behaviors. 2. On the organizational transformation, the change of workload and performance are strongly correlated to the officer’s sexuality. 3. On the organizational commitment behavior, the commitment of hard- working attitude differs significantly with officer’s ranks. The results of this research can be used for future defense organization transformations and further research work.
