Summary:碩士 === 東吳大學 === 國際貿易學系 === 94 === This research examines the change in trade pattern between Taiwan and Japan during 1961 and 2004 according to OECD’s statistics categorized by of SITC Revision.2. The focus will be on the analysis of export and import from Taiwan to Japan, trade interdependence and intra-industry trade variation between both countries. The result shows that the manufacturing and agriculture account for 93.1% and 5.7% of total import, respectively. For export, agriculture appears the gradual reduction from 97% to 10.5% whereas as manufacturing increases from 2.7% to 89.5%. The highest three average IIT indexes are SITC 2,3,8 and the IIT value are 0.815, 0.609, and 0.604 respectively. The indexes of total IIT between Taiwan and Japan from 1961 to 2004 are 0.112 to 0.568 and this index keeps rising whereas the situation of intra-industry trade is getting more and more obvious.
