Empowerment social work has increasingly become one of the main practical and professional modes at many aboriginal tribes and has been recognized as an important issue of disaster and social work by many practitioners. ‘Daan River Tribal Work Station’ has established the new model to work with aboriginal tribes and also has addressed empowerment social work to the needs of the children, vulnerable adults, old people and any other disadvantage groups in the disaster areas of Daan River tribes. Its work has contributed enormously to our experiences of social work practice and become a paragon of social work services for the future. This research, I start by considering the development process of ‘Daan River Tribal Work Station’ itself. Secondly, I look more closely at the implement of empowerment social work to identify how ‘Daan River Tribal Work Station’ respects the tribalism with their conventions in order to empower the societies. Finally, by observing its strengths and weaknesses for using empowerment social work at the tribal communities, the study proposes appropriate strategies to suggest practice implementation for social workers working at the reconstruction of the aboriginal areas. Keywords: empowerment, aboriginal social work, disaster and social work Lee Meng-Cheng 李明政 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 136 zh-TW
