We will use the SIMULATE program, which is written by Joseph Terwilliger (2002), to simulate genotypes in family members. Then based on the genetic data sets specified, assign the affection status for each individual,ex: diseases loci. After the preparation of both the genotype and phenotype data, we will analyze the simulated data sets by the tree-based methods using R-tree written by Heping Zhang.
