Even though a double-culture might be a vantage point, these babies'' future accomplishments look very doubtful, and the reasons are referred to the foreign female spouses'' personal problems, like integration, adaptation, language ability, lack of knowledge or experience in nurturing, not capable in educating, etc. Accordingly, this study is conducted to examine foreign female spouses'' maternal self-efficacy, and explore the influential factors related to maternal self-efficacy and social support. A questionnaire is administered to the foreign female spouses who participated in Chinese classes in Taichung area, which selected via a convenience sampling method. The main results of this study are summarized as follows: 1.Foreign female spouses reported a good level of social support in Taiwan, especially emotional support, and the factors influencing social support include: age, length of migration, length of pre-marital stage, length of marriage, communication with overseas family, religion activity, husband''s age, husband''s level of education, husband''s income, number of children, and children''s age. 2.Foreign female spouses had much confidence in their maternal self-efficacy, and the relevant factors include: language ability, length of migration, length of marriage, communication with overseas family, marriage status, language used in communication with children, number of children, children''s age, children''s health condition, four sources of efficacy information, and each of social support types. Foreign female spouses received much support, particularly more emotional support than other social support types, from their family and support network as well in Taiwan. Furthermore, emotional support was the best predictor of foreign female spouses'' maternal self-efficacy. As maternal self-efficacy get enhanced with the increase of social support, and considering the importance of emotional social support , it appears that rectifying prejudiced views of foreign female spouses is a significant issue in Taiwan. 邱方晞 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 165 zh-TW |
