The purpose of this study was to analyze of the skill performance of taekwondo players of Chinese Taipei, Korea, and China teams in 2005 Macau East Asia Game. Video tapes were collected from twelve players who performed a total of sixteen competitions. Eight well trained observers were divided into two groups to conduct a crosscheck skill analys the attack and score rate percentage by active and passive, right foot and left foot, and front and rear foot attack. The results were:
A. Competition type analysis: 1. Chinese Taipei team players focus on active right
rear foot attack, while China team players used active left rear foot attack, and Korea team players used passive right rear foot as the main scoring attack type; 2. Korea team players used both active and passive attack types while Chinese Taipei team players prefer active attack and China team players prefer passive attack. It was found that all the three teamsplayers were prefer to use rear foot attack as the main attack type; 3. As for attacking figures, Chinese Taipei team players were the highest, China team players were the second, and the Korea team players were the lowest. For scoring, Korea team players were the highest, Chinese Taipei Team players were the second, and China team players were the lowest. As for the skill performing success rate, Korea team plers were the highest, Chinese Taipei Team players were the second, and China team players were the lowest; 4. As for skill performing losing point rate, Chinese Taipei team players were the highest, China team players were the second, and Korea team players were the lowest. B. Skill performance: 1. As for the main skill movement, three teams players used in this game were found front turning kick; and, 2. The highest success rate for China and Korea team players were front turning kick, and Chinese Taipei team players were back kick. I was concluded that the main factors for Korean team players to win the competition was because of the players who can fully used both active and passive attack type as well as their high success-rate kicking, while ChineseTaipei and China team players emphasized single attack type.
