Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 設計研究所 === 94 === Currently, the businesses in Taiwan face on the challenge of globalization. Since the assimilation of strategies, the past operational model of industries has been sharp competitive. Businesses gradually are willing to development innovative product to meet the request of customers, and create opportunity of markets. Hence, compared with the past, the tasks assigned to industrial design have the trend to expand to the side of planning gradually. More and more businesses invest resource in new product development. The design department actively brings up the design planning proposals for new product development, in order to open businesses and enhance business images. Therefore, it uses the case study as the main research method in this study. It interview 7 companies, including electric appliance companies and information industry for the innovative product proposals in their design department, in order to probe into their procedures and methods of design planning, and induce a general procedure of design planning for businesses in this case study. It mainly separates into 5 steps, including 1. to design the demand analysis for the users in this study; 2. to design the defined chance point of finding new produce; 3: to evaluate innovative proposals and concept; 4. to visualize proposals and concepts; and 5: to conduct engineering design for production. Finally, this study finds following study result through literature review and interviewing with specialists:
1. The accumulating experience of industrial designers and their understanding of information in markets result to the effects of design planning.
2. The technology feasibility is the key for successful new product development of businesses in current stage. When design department conduct designing and planning, it need to evaluate the research and development capability of the business itself, in order to avoid from the drop while executing practically.
3. Industrial designers shall communicate with each research and development department for information in markets, which is helpful to find the feasible technology development in order to apply in new product development projects.
