Because of the prospect of OLED, a lot of research discuss on the design of the manufacture process, Material analysis, and the study of inspection. The inspection of OLED shows some shortages such as dark point, surface scratch, non-uniform luminance, lack of color uniformity etc. Among them, the issue of non-uniformity is improved by changing material or manufacture process. But those spend too much time and manpower. Thus, this research proposes an automation system of luminance inspection and compensation that can raise the uniformity of display luminance and improve the quality of the products. This study focuses on the uniformity compensation of color Organic Light Emitting Diode panels. It measured the average luminance and the C.I.E. chromaticity coordinates of RGB of each area panels by the chroma meter. Firstly, it should adjust the gray levels of RGB to obtain the correct white balance. Then, the system computes the compensation value of all area in the panel to Area Compensation Look-up table(ACLUT) and inset to driving circuit through the linear interpolation equation. Before appearing all pixel signals on the panel by ACLUT, the original pixel signal should be compensated to get the luminance uniformity. This research carries on the experiment with the OLED panel of 96* 64 driven by the electric current. Before compensation, the C.I.E. chromaticity coordinates of white light is [0.28, 0.34] that is towards the green light, and the luminance uniformity of white lighting is 72.04 %. After the compensation, the C.I.E. chromaticity coordinates of white light is [0.31, 0.32] that is towards pure white light, and the luminance uniformity of white lighting is 93.76 %. The luminance uniformity increases 21.74 %. So it proves that this method can effectively improve the non-uniform luminance which may be caused by manufacture process.
