Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 企業管理系 === 94 === This thesis studies the positioning strategy of HP Industry Standard Server Group (ISSG) for X-86 based servers. The Key success factors and key competitive forces for HP ISSG are analyzed by applying the SWOT and the Five-Force methods, respectively. This research identifies the postioning strategy of Dell as a cost advantage positioning strategy that offers the lowest-price server in the industry, and the positioning strategy of IBM as a benefit advantage positioning strategy that provides the differential service on IT total solution, service and software. By combining the result from SWOT and Five-Force analysis, the determinant factors of positioning strategy are derived for HP. The most important suggestion in this thesis is a hybrid strategy of cost and benefit advantage positioning strategy. The cost advantage positioning strategy is the share strategy by offering the lowest-price server in the market. The benefit advantage positioning strategy is the margin strategy by offering the customized IT solution to customer to increase EPS value.
