Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 造形藝術研究所 === 95 === Among all the various works of Premier Art left by the early Taiwan aborigines, we can say, the Pai-wan tribe has left the most quantity of art pieces. Though it also finds some different Premier Art forms from other tribes’ culture, it is Pai-wan that gives us a diversity of apparent sense through its usage of materials to present its applications of Premier Art, especially in the forms of style, shape, patterns, content of an art work.
The Pai-wan tribe not only has plenty of wood-carving handcrafts but also has pieces like ceramic pot, knifes, weave, glazed bead, and so on. According to this, we can assume that its artistic activities in the early period are still as many as in current. Though observing each unique Premier Art work it left, we can imagine and try to understand the meaning and spirits of symbols or patterns of an artwork, and each of them should have its traditional meaning. In addition, we can also find out from these works, the early Pai-wan people’s ethics and aesthetics in general.
However, at the same time, it is important to understand basic form a work and content of research on Premier Art of the Pai-wan tribe by discussion of the main issue. It is necessary to analyze all the elements we discussed about earlier of artworks. On the other hand, studying the meaning of sites in each project and also the content of art at that time is worth to explore and learn more. The energy and vitality of these Premier Art works and art values they left behind to nowadays and future development will be our ultimate goal to understand.
