Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 造形藝術研究所 === 94 === The aim of the research is to explore the contemporary ceramic arts, from the Taiwanese perspective, especially focusing on the case study of Lo,Sen-Hao. The collection of data was based on in-depth interviews, participatory observations; and on the foundation of relative literatures. The framework of analysis was divided into two parts, namely analyzing the works of art and the integrated analyses. By systematizing the personal background of Lo,Sen-Hao, this thesis mainly probes into the contexts of his creative thoughts and art works from the intersectional points of view. It was found that within the last decades, Lo,Sen-Hao has been paying close attention to the interactive relationships of land, nature, and human beings since his coming back from Germany in 1993. He consistently stresses on the connections between arts, life, and society no matter how his focus and topics of works have been changed. Since 1996, he has outreached his domain of creation to Installation, Land Art, Social Sculpture, Performance, without limiting himself on the ceramic material. Nevertheless, he still insists on his axis of ceramic creation which enriched by the individualized interpretations and characteristics. He creates his own Lo,Sen-Hao’s style, and his creative thoughts and pieces have re-oriented the contemporary ceramic arts in Taiwan. The general public and some fields of art creation are activated by Lo,Sen-Hao’s reflection, and therefore, people have started not only to think about the relation of the ceramic arts and the land, but also to rebuild the cultural identification of Taiwan. And presenting an overview of Lo,Sen-Hao’s creative thoughts and art works help to stimulate further discussion and research. In the last part, several recommendations are listed for researchers, the ceramicists, as well as the enthusiasts about the contemporary ceramic arts in Taiwan.
