Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 政治學研究所 === 94 === This thesis is to focus on the research of the correlation of the crimes and humane ecology in each administrative area of Taiwan in the year of 2004. It is also to analyze and examine all the villages and towns which are divided into some clusters based upon the similarities or characteristics of crimes and humane ecology. And then, to verify the study in crime ecological theories and to depict the characteristics or the models with social environment or humane ecology which could be likely relevant to crimes. Hopefully, the conclusions of this research would helpfully be a reference in building community awareness and management in the future and offer constructive suggestions on ecological planning and resources allocation for crime prevention. In addition, this research integrates and analyzes the data of all villages and towns about 7 items of crimes, 19 items of humane ecology and 3 items of defensive forces on public security. SPSS12.0 and SAS9.1 software packages are used in this study. The analytical methods are as follows; (1) Narrative statistics: Observing the means and standard deviations of the crimes and humane ecology data. (2) Correlation analysis: Measuring the correlation among 7 items of crime and that among crime and humane ecology. (3)Factor analysis: Reducing humane ecology data to a fewer dimensions in order to continue the follow-up analyses. (4) Canonical Correlation analysis: Measuring the strongest correlation among equations of variable groups of crimes and humane ecology. (5) Cluster analysis: Dividing 358 villages and towns of Taiwan into several clusters with some different characteristics of crimes and humane ecology.
