碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 教育研究所 === 94 === A Study on the Relationship between The Participation of the Community People of Adult Education Activity and Community consciousness Peng Lien Huan Abstract The purpose of the study is to understand the current situation of participation of adult education activity of the people in the community in the Xiao Gang junior high school area, and to compare the difference, relationship and forecast of variables of various backgrounds between community adult education activity and community consciousness. This study uses the cluster sampling method to collect the survey data from “693 school children’s parents from 2 elementary schools in the Kaohsiung Xiao Gang junior high school area, and uses the questionnaire on people participating community adult education activity and community consciousness as the study tool. The findings are processed by using descriptive statistics, chi-square test, t-test for independent samples, one-way analysis of variance, scheffe method, correlation analysis, stepwise multiple regression, etc. The major findings are as follows: A. The first three reasons that community people never participate in the adult education activities are “ having no time to attend”, “having no activity message acquired” and “having no interests”; the first three reasons that community people participate in the adult education activities are” being acquainted with community people”, “enhancing living cognition” and “improving the growth of inner spirit” ;the types of participation in order are” the growth of inner spirit”, “the public affairs”, “the body health”, “the public service” and “the cognitive skill”. B. The frequency of community people participating in the adult education activities differs greatly due to age, marital conditions, house ownership and with or without community jobs. C. The participation of community people in adult education activities differs due to sex, age, marriage, occupation, education and with or without community jobs. D. The community people’s consciousness differs due to age, occupation, family monthly income, the period of inhabitation, house ownership, and with or without community jobs. E. The more the community people participate in the community adult education activities, the stronger their community consciousness will be. F. The degree of participation in the related community adult education activities bears a forecast function towards the community consciousness. Finally, it presents concrete suggestions according to the study result as references for the promotion of the growth of the community and the elevation of the community consciousness.
