Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 統計學系 === 94 === Study data from the 30-item Maudsley Personality Inventory (MPI) and the 50-item Brief Symptom Rating Scale (BSRS-50) obtained from 167 patients, who were indicated for bariatric surgeries for morbid obesity from Jan, 2003 and Oct, 2004.at one teaching hospital of Taipei. The purposes of this research examines the relation that the the personality traits and different dimensions of psychiatric symptoms in people associated with laparoscopic weight loss surgery selection(gastric partition,mini-gastric bypass or gastric banding)by morbis obesity patients.
First of all, we find that there are the main person of female, 21 to 30 years old, senior high school and accepted mini-gastric bypass.
Secondly, the 30-item Maudsley Personality Inventory (MPI-30) and the 50-item Brief Symptom Rating Scale (BSRS-50) is evaluated by reliability and validity. The MPI-30 was analysed by item analysis and factor analysis. It’s Cronbach’s alpha coefficients is improved in theree factors(Neuroticism, Extroversion and Social desirability). The content validity and construct validity of BSRS-50 were rather good.
Moreover, cross reference table analyses respect, we keep eight independent variables about ‘BMI’, ’Neuroticism’, ’Social desirability’, ‘Obsession’, ’Interpersonal' , ‘Depression’, ‘Hostility’ and ‘Phobia’. into logit regression model and build constructing to analyse.
Finally, empirical evidences of logit model(type 4-1), eight independent variable parametes of the above are positively associated with bariatric surgeries’ method. As the personality traits and different dimensions of psychiatric symptoms in people shows abnormally or his(her) BMI is bigger, that associated with laparoscopic weight loss surgery selection about mini-gastric bypass by morbis obesity patients. On the contrary , they will choose gastric partition or gastric banding.
