The social network that one has included relatives and friends, hence the research concerns that what kind of support the social network provides, and if people would get different help depend on their class position. The data of this study is based on “Taiwan Social Change Survey (TSCS)”data that were collected in 2001. The hypotheses are: first, the higher class position people contact with their friends more frequently than the lower ones did; the higher class position contact with relatives much less than the lower class people. Besides, the social support from their friends are much than their relatives give. Second, people with lower class position have stronger strength of ties with friends and relatives, and get much support from the social network. Third, People have stronger ties with their social network, they can get much support. The results show that people with higher class position are much alienated with their personal network than the lower class position. Even though, the social support people get from their social network aren’t causing any difference by people’s class position. That means everyone in different class position needs support from others. Meanwhile, when people have stronger ties with their networks, they will receive much help and support.
