However, there are no seamen who can comply with the requirements of the LNG ship by International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch-keeping for Seafarers 1978, as amended in 1995 (STCW78/95) and there is no qualified agency in our country now. It is worth considering how to face and solve this problem. This study was based on the viewpoint of the marine engineering field to consider the technical field of LNG ship, the STCW 78/95 of international convention, international code for the construction and equipment of LNG ships, carrying liquefied gases in bulk, and the trend of the LNG ships. The property and market condition for LNG are also analysis. This paper will consider the lowest standards of training, certification and watch-keeping in the special training requirements for personnel on certain types of ships which is from the STCW78/95 chapter V. And that consider the lowest requirement for the construction and equipment of LNG ships in the IGC code, beyond question, the detail information for the characteristic of the LNG ship also were collected. In addition, considering the boil-off gas reliquefaction equipped for LNG ship, it can make Main Engine powered by heavy fuel oil and can save the huge cost. At last, specific to show up the requirements of Seafarers, the construction and equipment of LNG ships by International Convention and the conclusion of the trend of the LNG Ships Propulsion in the future. And provide some suggestions to the requirements of training seamen, the trend of the saving cost of the marine engine arrangement for LNG ship, the content of training textbook and the references for the authorities and the seamen who would like to serve on the LNG ship in the future. These suggestions can contribute to the progress for the maritime in our country.
