The study argued that people can be more political to achieve the goal, so the study used Machiavellianism as the moderators. And people like to work with whom similar to themselves, so the study used perceptive similarity as moderators as well. The samples of this study are the students who have job experiences and have jobs currently. The questionnaire of this study is to investigate the influence of the impression management to interpersonal trust using regression analysis. The findings of this study are (1) Peers using impression management would not result in negative interpersonal trust. (2) Perceptive similarity can decrease the negative interpersonal trust brought by the impression management (3) Machiavellianism can increase the positive interpersonal trust when using impression management. Implications and suggestions for future research and practice are discussed in the Chinese context. Key words: impression management、Machiavellianism、Perceptive similarity、interpersonal trust
