For further development of Taipei Harbor, use the three dimensional velocity numerical model to simulate the flow field near Taipei Harbor, to provide information of velocity distributions near Taipei Harbor and increase the safety of ship motion. The main simulation model is the three dimensional hydrodynamic’ numerical model developing from Danish Hydraulic Institute (DHI). The three dimensional hydraulic model is base on the continuity equation and momentum equations, and use the Alternating Direction Implicit method to solve the solution. Use this model and consider the wind, bed resistance, eddy viscosity, and take the measured data from tidal stations to make the boundary conditions reasonable for the simulation of velocity distribution of Taipei Harbor. In order to achieve a more accurate boundary condition and resolution, divide the simulation area to three different grid, and consider the time step, grid size to revision the boundary conditions. From the result can find, the change of velocity in Taipei harbor first, second, long-term project are not in evidence, but the velocity of the channel in harbor has the tendency to obviously increase, especially the velocity of flow outside the north breakwater of the long-term project can reach above 1m/s , and the counterclockwise circulation produced increases more than the second project in the long-term project, the inference should be that the angle lengthening in the breakwater of the long-term project at the entrance of harbor, so the breakwater of the long-term project disposes space discussed further.
