Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 衛生教育學系在職進修碩士班 === 94 === -A research on the efficacy of the intervention of smoking cessation program for vocational collage students- A Master Thesis By mei-lan Fang The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of smoking cessation program based on transtheoretical model(TTM) for college students. The study outcomes included the reduction of the number of cigarettes smoking per day, the score of Fagerstrom test for nicotine dependence, the expiratory carbon monoxide(CO) level, improvement of TTM-related variables such as stages of change, process of change, decisional balance for smoking cessation, and enhancement of self-efficacy to resist the smoking temptation. A quasi-experimental design was employed in the study. The intervention and control groups consisted of 20 and 22 smoking college students respectively. The interventions included 12-hour structured courses and individual smoking cessation counseling by doctor twice. The intervention group was assessed by the questionnaires before and after interventions. The control group was assessed similarly at the same time frame. The data was analyzed by SPSS11.0/pc for Windows. Frequency, mean, standard deviation, percentage, paired t-test, one-way ANOVA were used for statistical analyses. The main results of this study were as follows: 1.The smoking cessation program significantly decrease the level of CO, number of cigarettes per day among the students of the intervention group. 2.The smoking cessation program enhance the Process of Change significantly among the students of the intervention group. There was a significant increase in the score of decisional pros and the skill of cessation. 3.The smoking cessation program significantly increase the self-efficacy of smoking cessation in habitual and positive situations among the students of intervention group. 4.There was a significant acceleration in the Stage of Change for the intervention group. 5.Most students from the intervention group found that the interventions were interesting, useful and helpful.
