Abstract
Considering the importance of educating and administrative work in educational development, this thesis aims to discuss the pressure and satisfaction that educating & administrative staff feel at work and analyze the disparity and relation between them.
Purpose of this research:
1. discuss connotation of working pressure and satisfaction and related research;
2. discuss working pressure of local educating & administrative staff in Taiwan;
3. discuss their working satisfaction;
4. discuss relation between working pressure and satisfaction of local educating & administrative staff in Taiwan;
5. Make suggestions according to research results for references of units and personnel concerned.
This thesis uses methods of literature analysis and questionnaire. Research target is employees in education bureau in the 23 counties and cities of Taiwan. Group sampling is adopted, covering 236 people of 9 counties and cities. Research tool is “Questionnaire on Working Pressure and Satisfaction of Local Educating and Administrative Staff in Taiwan”. Statistical methods used: percentage frequency distribution, single-factor ANOVA, T test and Pearsons Production Correlation analysis.
Main discoveries of the research:
1. general working pressure of local educating & administrative staff is not serious;
2. remarkable disparity exists in statistics between some background variants and working pressure;
3. uneven distribution of work causes higher working pressure to local educating & administrative staff;
4. frequent encounter with expected working plan or tasks causes higher working pressure to local educating & administrative staff;
5. authoritative request or personal administrative style causes higher working pressure to local educating & administrative staff;
6. more and more working plans causes higher working pressure to local educating & administrative staff;
7. remarkable disparity exists in statistics between some background variants and working satisfaction;
8. stability provided by work causes satisfaction to local educating & administrative staff;
9. recognition and approval of completion of work causes satisfaction to local educating & administrative staff;
10. relation among colleagues in the bureau causes satisfaction to local educating & administrative staff;
11. medium negative correlation exists between working pressure and satisfaction of local educating & administrative staff;
12. director and deputy director of education bureau have the lowest ratio of filling the questionnaire;
13. Number of employees in regional education bureau is relatively small and shows tendency for decrease.
Finally, following suggestions are made according to research results and discussions.
