Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育經營與管理研究所 === 94 === The purpose of this research is to understand the situation of the ethnic identification and self-concept of the elementary school students of immigrant mothers and to probe into the relativity between both. The inquiring tool is the self-made questionnaire based on the documentary analysis, to make a survey for the ethnic identification and self-concept of the elementary school students of immigrant mothers. Based on the collected data, the survey is made through the applying of statistic approach including descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA and pearson product moment correlation. According to the results of data analysis, this study reaches to the following conclusion: 1. For the 3re-6th graders of the elementary school students who study at the Tainan Hsien elementary schools of immigrant mothers, the level of the ethnic identification toward their parents’ races is signifiance. 2. For the 3re-6th graders of the elementary school students who study at the Tainan Hsien elementary schools of immigrant mothers, the level of self-concept is signifiance. 3. For the elementary school students of immigrant mothers coming of different background, the ethnic identification will significant due to sex and mother’s nationality, but not due to grade, SES and the locality of their schooling. 4. For the elementary school students of immigrant mothers coming of different background, the self-concept will differ due to the different grades and mother’s nationality, but not due to sex, SES and locality of their schooling. 5. The ethnic identification and self-concept related to each other positively for the elementary school students of immigrant mothers. That means, the higher level of their identification toward their parents’, the better their self-concept is. Finally, based on the research’s finding and conclusions, we offer some suggestions to the administrative education unit and other researchers in the future.
