Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育經營與管理研究所 === 94 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the emotional intelligence of Tainan County elementary school teachers and their job stress. This author designed “Emotional Intelligence Scale for Elementary School Teachers,” a test appropriate for elementary school teachers. Samplings were 1,014 teachers from public elementary schools, Tainan Country, in School Year 2005-2006. Research tools included “Emotional Intelligence Scale for Elementary School Teachers” and “Job Stress Scale for Elementary School Teachers.’ 895 valid copies of questionnaire were collected, and the validity rate was 88.3%. Data was analyzed through Descriptive Statistics, Independent Samples T-Test, One-Way ANOVA, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation, and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. Findings were as follows, 1. 22 questions were included in “Emotional Intelligence Scale for Elementary School Teachers” designed by this author. This highly reliable and valid scale accounted for 63.70% of the variance. 2. The emotional intelligence of elementary school teachers reached a high intermediate level while the level of their job stress was low intermediate. 3. Their emotional intelligence showed significant difference in “gender” and “post,” but little or no difference was available in “children bearing,” “age,” or “seniority.” 4. Their job stress showed significant difference in “children bearing,” “age,” “seniority,” and “post,” but little or no difference was found in “gender.” 5. Their emotional intelligence and job stress were correlated negatively. 6. Their emotional intelligence was helpful in predicting effectively their job stress. According to the findings above, this author advanced some concrete suggestions as future references for educational bureau, school executives, and elementary school teachers.
