Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 音樂教育學系碩士班 === 94 === This thesis is a study of the “Wanderer Fantasy,” D. 760, by Franz Schubert (1797-1828). Chapter one contains an overview of the thesis, chapter two explores the life and musical style of Schubert. An examination of other works by Schubert is also included in this chapter. Chapter three surveys the history of fantasy, citing the importance of a few significant works by other composers. Chapter four discusses the circumstance under which Schubert composed the Wanderer Fantasy. Charts are used to demonstrate the forms and structures of the piece. In addition, harmony, rhythms, melodies and other musical components are analyzed to illustrate Schubert’s compositional techniques. Chapter five provides interpretations from the performer’s point of view on prformancing techniques the piece, including the difficulities and the suggestions for resolutions. Chapter six is the summary of this thesis.
In Schubert’s lifetime, most of other composers lived under the influences of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven, Schubert was of no exception in his early years. Yet he was able to create his own musical languages and develop theme into his unique styles in later years. His music serves as an important transition from the Classical to the Romantic periods.
