The purpose of this study was to understand leisure constrain and leisure attitude for junior high school students with different background and analyze the correlative factors that affect junior high school students’ leisure participation and leisure satisfaction. Junior high school students in Tainan area were population. The area classification of urbanization extents, which used for sampling, refered to “The R.O.C. Tai-Min area kids’ living conditions investigation reports.” Two schools were drawn from each extent. One class was drawn from each grade in each school. Questionnaires were used to collect data. The research tool which was composed by the researcher included Leisure Participate Inventory, Leisure Attitude Inventory, Leisure Constraint Inventory, Leisure Satisfaction Inventory. The data analysis was conducted by frequency distribution, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple linear regression. The empirical results were concluded as follows: 1. For junior high school students, the most popular athletic types of leisure activities were bicycle-riding, taking a walking, general balls games;the most popular academic and art types of leisure activities were learning English, reading, learning computer;the most popular social types of leisure activities were chats, dating with friends, playing cheeses;the most popular amusement types of leisure activities were watching TV, seeing a movie, listening music, playing videogame;the most popular practical types of leisure activities were taking care of younger brothers and sisters, planting flowers and charging shops. 2. There were significant differences on leisure constrain of junior high school students for diverse gender, grades, parenting styles and attending extra curriculum after school. 3. There were significant differences on leisure attitude of junior high school students for the areas of different extents of urbanization, personal background and attending extra curriculum after school. 4. The frequency of junior high school students’ participation in various types of leisure activities could be explained effectively by different leisure constrain, leisure attitude, the areas of different extents of urbanization, personal background and attending extra curriculum after school. 5. There were significant differences on leisure satisfaction for different leisure constrain, leisure attitude, participation in various types of leisure activities, personal background and attending extra curriculum after school.
