Summary:碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 資訊工程學系 === 94 === We propose a parameter decoder and a Context-based Adaptive Variable Length Decoder for H.264/AVC main profile. Our method performs coefficient decoding without using any table memory. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first memory-free CAVLD design in the literature. Based on the memory-free scheme, our design performs fast CAVLD decoding with very low cost. It uses 15.7K gates (3.4K for coefficient decoder) and runs at 100 MHz for real-time decoding of 2Kx1K video at 30fps. We have integrated the proposed parameter decoder and CAVLD into an H.264/AVC main profile decoder prototype on a multimedia SOC platform.
