In order to accomplish the goals listed above, a qualitative study method was used. According to this purpose, the research questions were : (1) What’s the motive for the volunteers? (2) What’s the content of the work? How was volunteers’ attitude transformed? How did they adjust their mentality in volunteers’ service course? (3) What’s the reason that volunteers participate abidingly? (4) What’s the influence or transition in volunteers’ growth and life values during the participation? Eight volunteers who have served over four years were interviewed and observed in their service setting. Each interview was audio-taped and transcribed word by word. The thematic analysis was used to identify and clarify the themes through the interpretation of meaning of the text. The results were as following: (1) There are four types of the volunteers’ motives for participation, such as social motivation, egoistic motivation, affected motivation and altruistic motivation. (2) Volunteers learn the skills of physiatrics, feeding, care and handicapped children education. Besides, Volunteers are aware of the change of their work attitude and mentality adjustment. (3) The reasons of Volunteers’ abiding participation were encouragement from others, their appreciation for the organization, individual inner contentment and their lives going on unaffected. (4) The experiences that these volunteers gained throughout the serving process were developing professional specialties, promoting parents education skills, learning care knowledge and time management, developing healthy condition and understanding service viewpoint.
