Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立台北護理學院 === 中西醫結合護理研究所 === 94 === The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate acupoint stimulation with computer-assisted-instruction for smoking cessation. An experimental study design was used. Ninety-eight subjects were randomly assigned to the 3 groups. Group A (n=33) received acupoint stimulation with computer-assisted-instruction, and group B (n=32) received acupoint stimulation only, whereas control group (n=33) received sham acupoint stimulation. After intervention, the results of this study showed significant difference in cotinine (p<.05) and smoking self-efficacy(p<.005), but not in nicotine dependence (p>.05). In addition, group A had highly satisfaction appraisal regarding a computer-assisted-instruction with interactive videodisc systems (M=4.26, SD=.05). The finding of this study may not only provide the smokers another choice for quitting smoking, but also provide healthcare professionals a new smoking cessation educational program. Further research based on findings to evaluate the effect of acupoint with computer-assisted-instruction for smoking cessation in different population.
