A mixed-methodology design which combined quantitative and qualitative approaches was applied in the conduct of this study. All of the kindergarten evaluation committee members and kindergarten personnel in Kaohsiung City were invited to participate in this study. The response rate to the survey was 81%. Three educational personnel in the Education Bureau, Kaohsiung City were selected to participate in interviews. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics, an independent t-test, a one-way ANOVA and the level of significance was set at .o5. The conclusions of this study were as follows: 1. The kindergarten evaluation committees, kindergarten personnel and the educational administration personnel in the Education Bureau, Kaohsiung City all responders were toward positive attitude for the kindergarten evaluation in Kaohsiung City. They gave the highest appraisal to the “utility standards,” but “propriety standards” the lowest. 2. In the meta-evaluation standard of four, the evaluation committee members gave the highest appraisal to “accuracy standards,” but “propriety standards” the lowest. On the other hand, the kindergarten personnel gave the highest appraisal to “utility standards,” but “accuracy standards” the lowest. However, there was a significant difference in “accuracy standards,” between the evaluation committee members and kindergarten personnel. The evaluation committee members gave higher score than the preschool education personnel. 3. From kindergarten personnel characteristics (school identity, job position, the year of working, and education background); all responders were toward positive attitude for the kindergarten evaluation in Kaohsiung City. However, there showed no significant difference among each characteristic. 4. In different kindergarten size, there was a significant difference in the “Feasibility standards.” The “4~7classes” gave higher score than the “above 8 classes.” Chang, Fu-Ping 張富萍 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 131 zh-TW
