However, in China, many reforms, especially in recent years, have taken place not only in secondary education but also in maritime vocational education by central government so that this phenomenon is worth analyzing and discussing in comparative education research. As a whole, the research is to expand this domain, reinforce the analysis of the vocational maritime education across the Taiwan Strait,and gain more practicable research results as reference to reform our maritime vocational education in Taiwan. Based on the research motive mentioned above,the goals of study are as follows: 1. to analyze the teacher training system of maritime vocational education in Taiwan and Shanghai. 2. to analyze the curriculum and teaching of maritime vocational education in Taiwan and Shanghai. 3. to analyze the internship system and accreditation of maritime vocational education in Taiwan and Shanghai. 4. to compare Taiwan’s maritime vocational education with Shanghai’s according to the frist three findings. 5. to present recommendations for maritime vocational education in Taiwan.
