The comparative study was performed to reveal the differences of occupational stress and commitment of organization between the faculty with different background variables, through which the relationships between occupational stress and commitment of organization were investigated. The methodology of questionnaire survey was implemented for all faculty in National PingTung University of Education. The questionnaires that explore the occupational stress and organizational commitment from faculty at National PingTung University of Education, developed by the author, were distributed to all faculties in National PingTung University of Education with 105 copies returned, which included 15 invalid copies. Thus the total effective copies were 90, and the returned rate was 50%. Information acquired from these effective questionnaires was analyzed using SPSS statistics software. The proposed hypotheses were testified by statistical methods of mean, standard deviation, t test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson’s product moment. The results of the study were as follows: 1. The occupational stress of the faculty at National PingTung University of Education are characterized as lower than medium. The occupational stress are “transforming adaptation pressure” and “cognitive adaptation pressure”. 2. Organizational commitment of the faculty at National PingTung University of Education highly falls on hard working attitude. 3. The negative correlation between occupational stress and commitment of organization shows evidently effective in fraction. The significant level are partial and shows low correlation, especially in the part of occupational stress of “cognitive adaptation pressure” and “organizational identification”, “retention commitment”, “overall commitment of organization”. Besides, “overall occupational stress” and “overall commitment of organization” shows low correlation. Based on conclusion, the suggestions are proposed for the reference of administrative organizations of education, faculty in University of Education, and future research, school administrations and scholars for further researches. 劉慶中 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 152 zh-TW
