The results of this study can be considered as references for information training courses provided for junior high school principals. Five main dimensions are used to assess the information literacy of junior high school principals including the ability of identifying information, the capability of locating information, the ability of synthesizing information, the ability of using information, and the ability of evaluating information. The data were collected from the questionnaires answered by the principals of Tainan County. Forty-three questionnaires were sent to these principals and forty-one of them were returned. The return ratio is 95.3%. The answers of questionnaires were measured by the five- point Likert scale including strongly disagree, disagree, neither agree nor disagree, agree, and strongly agree. The conclusions of this study are drawn as follows: 1. The average score of information literacy of all junior high school principals of Tainan County is 3.89. This shows that the information literacy of the entire principals is at the middle-high level. 2. The scores of the five dimensions are ranged from 3.76 to 4.04. These dimensions are ranked by the average from maximum to minimum in the following order: the capability of locating information, the ability of synthesizing information, the ability of identifying information, the ability of evaluating information, and the ability of using information. 3. Based on one-way ANOVA and t-test, all of questions about the information literacy of junior high school principals of Tainan County are not statistically significant in different backgrounds and school environments.
