碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 成人教育研究所 === 94 === The research has adopted the feature analysis with the focus on the adults’ behavior transformation after attending the Dale Carnegie Course. The profound interviews with graduated members and the observation records of members’ behavior change have demonstrated how the effect was achieved during learning process. The overall study has found out such behavior transformation could be completed in terms of the four learning segments, which are inclusive of “learning attitude”, “knowledge digest”, “frequent practice” and “habitual exercise”. The research has come out with the following conclusion in conformity to the four learning segments.
I. Learning attitude comes from motivation:
1). The stronger learning motive, the better learning effect.
2). The clearer setting of goals, the more practical outcome.
3). The more reliant on the discourse and instructor, the more productive fulfillment.
4). The more confident members, the more changes can be accepted and the more breakthroughs can be made.
II. Gaining knowledge by following the instructions & manual:
1). The knowledge and content of three books are provided only for reference.
2). The design of syllabus is interconnected in order to enhance the learning effect.
3). The principles illustrated in the books are used to remind the expected effect in order to arouse the motivation to change.
III. More practice to activate the power of change:
1). Practical exercise could transcend the theory of research.
2). The instructor’s guidance and caring is the main external force to help the members across the cozy zone.
3). The encouragement from the senior members is the main support to help the members not to indulge in the cozy zone.
4). The influence and mutual learning from each other is another very critical factor to help the members grow and change.
IV. Habitual cultivation can be transformed into the part of behavior:
The habitual cultivation after the sustained practice could be finally contributed to the outcomes of confidence increase, better communication skill, more harmonious relationship, arouse enthusiasm, ability to manage the stress and worries, leadership enhancement and more positive attitude and thinking.
On the basis of the above conclusion, the following suggestions are brought forth for the instructors and members of Dale Carnegie Training.
I. Suggestions for Dale Carnegie Institute:
1). Understanding the members’ motivation and their characteristics is the perquisite for the adult instructor.
2). Being experienced and having the knowledge with the learning process by transforming it into real change of behavior.
3). More theories shall be in parallel with more practices in the syllabus of Dale Carnegie Course.
4). Long-distance learning programme could help the graduated members to extend the learning effect.
5). To utilize the interaction with the members, senior members’ talents and the training booklets could efficiently promote the learning effect.
II. Suggestion for the adult instructor:
1). Acting as a catalytic promoter.
2). Planning the excellent learning environment.
3). Employing both theory and practice from the teaching experience.
4). Guiding the members to the positive direction while helping them breakthrough the bottleneck.
III. Suggestions for members:
1). Clearly realizing the self-learning target to achieve the better result.
2). Knowing about your own characteristics and darely make breakthrough.
3). Establishing confidence and initiatively taking part of the practice as well as trying the behavior transformation.
4). Taking advantage of the simulation learning and self-incentive as the power of transformation.
5). For the graduated members, by employing the principles in daily life and work can bring out the best learning effect.
IV. Suggestions for the post-researcher:
1). For the extending effect, to focus on the dialogues with different groups at different length of time.
2). For the interviewees, you need to choose those have been the senior members in training course in order to understand the learning effect after transformation.
3). For the scope of research, expanding the research regions and seeking for the learning effect of different areas.
4). For the research method, the feature analysis and the questionnaire shall be both adopted.
