The purposes are as follows. To know the difference between the job value and organizational commitment of volunteers in schools and in social welfare institutions. To investigate the difference between the job value and organizational commitment of volunteers of different background variables in schools and in social welfare institutions. To investigate the relationships between the job value and organizational commitment of volunteers in schools and in social welfare institutions. The research methods adopted questionnaires to collect information. The population is the volunteers who have insurance and served in the schools in Kaohsiung County and in social welfare institutions in the 94th year. The population includes fifty junior high schools (complete schools are included) and thirty volunteer teams registered in Xiang He Project. This research takes 550 volunteers in schools and 200 volunteers in social welfare institutions as samples. The number of the valid questionnaires of schools is 398, and that of social welfare institutions is 187. Descriptive statistic, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson product-moment correlation are used in this study. The results of the study are as follows. One. There is significant difference between the job value and organizational commitment of volunteers in schools in Kaohsiung County and in social welfare institutions. Two. The difference analysis of the job value of volunteers (different background variables) in schools. The background variables, including age, vocation, education, religion, the time they spend on serving each week, and joining on-the-job training, have significant difference in the job value of the volunteers. Three. The difference analysis of the job value of volunteers (different background variables) in social welfare institutions. The background variables, including age and vocation, have significant difference in the job value of the volunteers. Four. The difference analysis of the organizational commitment of volunteers (different background variables) in schools. The background variables, including age, vocation, education, religion, seniority, the time they spend on serving each week, and joining on-the-job training, have significant difference in the organizational commitment of the volunteers. Five. The difference analysis of the organizational commitment of volunteers (different background variables) in social welfare institutions. The background variables, including age, vocation, education, and religion, have significant difference in the organizational commitment of the volunteers. Six. The organizational commitment of volunteers and job value of volunteers represent high positive correlation. That is, the higher the job value of volunteers, the better their organizational commitment is.
