Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 電腦與通訊工程所 === 94 === ABSTRACT Owing to the fast developments of the computer software / hardware and the popularity of the internet, the applications using 3D models are getting more flourishing. With the increase to the requirement for more 3D models, the issue how to efficiently manage and retrieve these 3D models is manifesting its importance and should be further researched. In this thesis, the discrete principal curvatures of the vertices of the triangulated 3D models have been employed as the extracted features of the models. The histograms were also applied to carry out the retrieval of the 3D models. The robustness and invariance of the proposed method to the geometric transformations like scaling, rotating, and mirroring were also verified in this thesis. 3D model experimental results show that the models with complicated surfaces could be effectively retrieved from the database by our approach. Furthermore, the performance of the proposed method is efficient in terms of resources and time consumption. This approach and the foresaid features have been implemented in this thesis.
