Whether the construction project is carried out successfully or not is influenced, in large part, by an accurate estimation of these numbers. Inaccurate numbers often result in difficulties on budgeting for different stages of a project and tracking spot progress (each spot broken into two to three tasks). The school building project budget is roughly divided into two parts; a part for the structure itself and a part for the construction repair. In Taiwan, the largest proportion of construction repair is that which involves concrete work. Repairs involve many various methods and building materials. Historically, the bidding method used for winning a contract were based on a single bid for the entire job rather than being broken down into the component parts. Using this method, it is difficult to know whether the budget is accurate for the project or not. This established the need for an effective regression analysis method for estimating recheck. This research takes the school building projects as example. It contains the collection of company bid cases from 1997 to 1999, as well as the actual settlements to form a database. The research uses multiple regression analysis to derive a formula for estimating the cost of constructions within an extremely tight accuracy range, both on structure and repair. The structure factor uses the total square meters of the template (prefabricated molding), compartmentalization and inside and outside windows and doors. The repair factor takes into account the inner wall tiles, flat top whitewashes, inside and outside windows and doors, outer wall repair and actual floor area repair. In addition, the research demonstrates how to use the formulas to predict unusual estimations as a reminder for school budgets as well as provides an estimation evaluator with items in need of priority attention. 碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 營建工程所 === 94 === Abstract
Except for projects related to the 9/21 Earthquake, which were in need of
special, urgent care and contracts were awarded to contractors with good
reputations for delivering better quality, the method used for school
building project contracting bids has been based on the total number of
constructions. Whether the construction project is carried out successfully or
not is influenced, in large part, by an accurate estimation of these numbers.
Inaccurate numbers often result in difficulties on budgeting for different stages
of a project and tracking spot progress (each spot broken into two to three
tasks).
The school building project budget is roughly divided into two parts; a part for
the structure itself and a part for the construction repair. In Taiwan, the largest
proportion of construction repair is that which involves concrete work. Repairs
involve many various methods and building materials. Historically, the bidding
method used for winning a contract were based on a single bid for the entire
job rather than being broken down into the component parts. Using this
method, it is difficult to know whether the budget is accurate for the project or
not. This established the need for an effective regression analysis method for
estimating recheck.
This research takes the school building projects as example. It contains the
collection of company bid cases from 1997 to 1999, as well as the actual
settlements to form a database. The research uses multiple regression analysis
to derive a formula for estimating the cost of constructions within an extremely
tight accuracy range, both on structure and repair. The structure factor uses
the total square meters of the template (prefabricated molding),
compartmentalization and inside and outside windows and doors. The repair
factor takes into account the inner wall tiles, flat top whitewashes, inside and
outside windows and doors, outer wall repair and actual floor area repair. In
addition, the research demonstrates how to use the formulas to predict unusual
estimations as a reminder for school budgets as well as provides an estimation
evaluator with items in need of priority attention.
