As they represent the ultimate synergy between communications and positioning technologies in order to deliver to the mass market a wide variety of new services. Thus this diversity of services has been proposed, among tracking, dating and concierge services. While mobile users use these added-value services, they suffer some possible problems of the lack of screen space. Whereas small screen of mobile device to result in the presentation of PoI (Point-of-Interest) information on the map should be tailored to the needs of users, meaning that the presentation of the map would be simple and avoided complex information overly. This research states an empirical study of user access to PoI’s information inside the map in both map view display (MVD) and list view display (LVD), in an intuitional way, meeting the user''s needs base on the principle of adaptive visualization and comparison on Smartphone. At the same time, the literatures of small interface design and human-computer interaction are reviewed and applied. Then the prototype undertakes to develop the LBS on Smartphone emulator by VB.Net program. Finally, last part of study about usability of methodology adopts two kinds evaluation, one is objective measurement and the other is subjective investigation. Because cognitive of symbols affect operating performance, the results point using LVD more effectively than MVD. In the future, it is worth to enrich the LBS for functionality and customization.
