Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 應用日語所 === 94 === ABSTRACT This study focuses on the education of hotelman in Taiwan. Since the essence of hotel business is service, we can say it is an industry based on communication and one’s passion to serve others. The language ability becomes extremely important when you need to entertain foreign guests. In addition to verbal communication, deep understanding and respect for cultural differences will also help to bridge the gap between hotel receptionists and their guests. Taiwan’s Tourism Bureau should help the hotel industry to train language skills of hotel receptionists and enhance sensitivity to other cultures. This way, the tourism industry will prosper more. This is going to be the topic of my thesis. Since the number of Japanese tourists is increasing rapidly, there is a greater need for people who can speak Japanese. This thesis included five chapters. The first chapter is introduction, study goals and methods. The second chapter is about the characteristic of cross-culture contact and Japanese education. The third chapter is how hotel receptionists can use different media to improve their Japanese skills. The fourth chapter is on etiquettes that are valued in Japanese society. Having enough knowledge of them can make the communication between hotel receptionists and their Japanese guests smoother, the unnecessary misunderstandings can be avoided. In chapter five, talks about ways that receptionists can do to attract more Japanese clients, and thus creates more jobs opening in Taiwan.
