Transformation of economic structure was to be the historical process of Taiwan modernization. Taiwan Agricultural production now is to be productive way and lifestyle of pre-modern. The emergence of feminist thought during the period in which Taiwan developed its industry. Feminist discourse in Taiwan point out that patriarchal family is the root of men control women. Within the process of Taiwan’s modern economic restructuring, my grandmother was gradually to be an old woman in the declining rural area. Traditional family values which stress patriarchal descent oppress women that she holds firm to. My grandmother waits her children and grandchildren to return home in my study. This thesis examines two ways of study women’s experiences in contemporary Taiwan studies. Women’s experiences which be treated as result of patriarchal ideology and be considered as forming lived meanings of women. Both ways ignore the historical context of structuring women’s experience. I apply the conception of Probyn theorize experiences that articulates an ontological level and an epistemological level to explore my grandmother lived experiences. Williams’s structure of feeling as the concept explores why my grandmother identifies with traditional family value. Studying women’s experience includes historical aspect, I try to explore why my grandmother identify with the traditional family values within process of transformation of modernization. Then, I want to point out that my grandmother holds firm to family value of patriarchal descent which is not unknown oppression of patriarchal family but is to resist value of modernity.
