This research is to discuss the relationships between the school and the community, and analyze its difference, provide concrete suggestion. In order to achieve the purpose of the research , the main research methods were adopted by literature analysis、questionnaire and interview study. The subjects included 104 principals from Hualian County public elementary schools.
Following are main conclusions from the research:
1. The highest score among all aspects of questionnaire is the resources and the service.
2. The general situations of principal’s performance in the relationship between the school and the community are good.
3. Principals who are male will be higher scoring of the role expected, the participated degree than female.
4. Principals who are different period of service, education level, director of the period of service, principal’s period of service all do not reveal difference.
5. Principals who participate curriculum of the related community or social education are higher score in various aspects.
6. Principals who live in school district will be higher in various aspects.
7. Principals who are different school area and class do not reveal obvious distinction in various aspects.
8. Principals who are the general school category will be obvious higher score in role expected aspect.
9.There are close relationships in various aspects between the school and the community
10. The important factor to affect relationship between the school and the community is the person.
11.The main belief between the school and the community are: reciprocal、sincerity, effective communication, positive and initiative… and so on .
12.The factors between the school and the community are the identification, affirmation, funds, time, safe consideration, service attitude, colleague's harmony, community and school departmentalism, parent's manner, as well as pressure organization and so on.
13.The interaction ways are diverse between the school and the community.
According to the above conclusion, the suggestions are provided for educational administration institution, school and principals.
