It’s hoped that this research can reach goals as follows: to convey the internalized thought of nostalgia via symbols and images, to present the multiformity of thinking modes via multispace, and to express abstract space via varied techniques. The discourse of “Nostalgia, Mind-Image, and Ink—The Lingering Memory” is based on theories as follows (1) theoretic analysis approach and (2) theoretic synthesis approach, which analyze and combine modern artistic thinking to discuss the internalized emotional mind-image and thinking of expressionism, to analyze the revelation of mind-image, value and construction of mind-image of surrealism, and metaphor and modes of postmodernism, and to integrate metaphor of symbols and totems and conveyance of nostalgia, emotion and thought to construct the theory of the creation of memory and to develop personal artistic way of thinking and techniques. (3) Quality thinking approach: to investigate construction, experiments, and creation, to construct coexistence of space and time in paintings based on expressionism and surrealism and develop existence of the thinking of postmodernism and images consisting of totems and symbols, to integrate creation that conveys nostalgia, emotion and thinking into research of aesthetic theory, to conclude forms and modes of creation and form the research of personal creation. (4) Historical research approach: to construct the emotion of personal nostalgia and memory and integrate totems and symbols to convey and dissect the origins of artistic techniques. The creation of “Nostalgia, Mind-Image, and Ink—The Lingering Memory” utilizes (1) multi-mediums and techniques to produce symbols, totems, and conveyance of semi-concrete and concrete concepts, (2) multiformity of display of multispace, (3) dynamics and transparency to increase emotional intensity of a painting, (4) combination of texture and automatic techniques to convey concept of abstract space, and (5) collage and rubbing to enhance disconnection and metaphor of totems and symbols.
