The purpose of recruitment for civil servants is to utilize their expertise and help attaining military goals. Therefore, based on relevant theories in the area of organizational behavior, this study aims to explore the factors that influence civil servants’ job satisfaction. Relationships between work value, job involvement, and job satisfaction were examined in this study. In addition, the moderating effect of leadership style was examined on the relationship between work value and job satisfaction and the relationship between job involvement and job satisfaction, respectively. By using the method of questionnaire survey, this study collects data from the samples of civil servants in the ministry of national defense of R.O.C. The empirical results in this study are shown as follows. 1. Part of demographic variables explain a significant variance of work value, job involvement, and job satisfaction. 2. The perception of work value has a significant positive impact on job involvement. 3. The perception of work value has a significant positive impact on job satisfaction. 4. The perception of job involvement has a significant positive impact on job satisfaction. 5. The hypothesized moderating effect of leadership style is not supported. Finally, based on results this study provides suggestions for the military organizations. Implications for academics and practitioners are also discussed in detail.
